Why Did My QR Code Expire?

A static QR code does not expire. If a QR now shows an expiry message, it probably points through a dynamic short link that the provider has disabled, or its final destination is no longer available.

The destination is inside the pattern

Scan the code and inspect the address. If it opens your final website directly, the QR itself has no account or subscription to expire. Check whether that website moved, lost HTTPS, or went offline.

Dynamic QR

A short link sits in the middle

If the scan first opens a QR provider's domain, that provider controls a redirect. Trial expiry, account closure, a paused campaign, or a safety block can stop that redirect even though the printed pattern is readable.

Check this before paying anyone

  1. Scan with two phones and inspect the exact address.
  2. Open the final destination directly in a browser.
  3. Sign in to the provider that owns the short-link domain.
  4. Check campaign status, billing, and any safety warning.

Can HonestQR revive it?

Only the company that controls the short-link domain can restore that exact redirect. HonestQR can make a replacement, but you must replace the old QR artwork in print and digital files.
