Reactivation guide

How to Reactivate a QR Code

A static QR code does not need reactivation. You can reactivate the same printed dynamic QR only if you or your current provider still control the address encoded in it. If another provider owns that short link and will not restore it, the printed QR must be replaced.

1

Scan and read the domain

The domain tells you who controls the first step. A final website you own is different from a provider-owned QR short link.

2

Restore what you control

Fix the destination website, unpause the campaign, renew the relevant account, or ask the current provider to review a safety block.

3

Replace what you cannot control

Create new QR artwork, update every printed and digital placement, and test it before cancelling the old service.

When reactivation is possible

  • The QR contains a domain or redirect you own
  • The provider account still offers a restore or reactivate action
  • The final page moved and you can put it back online
  • A temporary campaign pause or access rule can be removed

When replacement is required

  • The QR contains another company's short-link domain
  • The provider deleted the redirect permanently
  • You cannot access or verify the original account
  • The code is too damaged or poorly printed to scan

Important

Uploading the image does not transfer the redirect

A QR image contains an address, not ownership rights. Copying the pattern copies the same unavailable address. No replacement provider can silently point that address somewhere new.
