Cancel GetQR

Step-by-step cancellation notes for GetQR customers who need to replace provider-controlled QR codes before closing an account.

Before cancelling

Do not assume a printed dynamic QR will keep working

Static QR codes cannot expire, because the final destination is inside the printed pattern. Dynamic QR codes depend on a provider-controlled redirect. Another QR company cannot take that redirect over. Create a new code, replace the old QR image everywhere it appears, and test it before cancelling.

GetQR's public terms, checked July 18, 2026, say dynamic redirects depend on an active subscription and may stop working when the associated account is closed.

How to cancel GetQR

Follow these steps from the provider's public cancellation instructions, then save the confirmation email or screen for your records.

  1. Create and scan a new replacement QR code.
  2. Replace the old QR image in every printed and digital location.
  3. Open the GetQR cancellation portal or go to Account > Manage My Plan.
  4. Log in if prompted.
  5. Confirm the cancellation.
  6. Save the confirmation, then scan your printed QR code and record what customers will see.

Build the replacement

Create an HonestQR dynamic code for editable campaigns, or a free static QR code for a destination that will never need to change.

Replace and scan

Replace the old QR image in every printed and digital location, then test the new code from at least two phones.

Keep records

Save cancellation confirmations, invoices, refund requests, and card statements. They matter if billing support or a card dispute is needed later.

General information only

US subscription rules generally focus on clear recurring-billing terms, express consent, and a usable way to stop future charges. State automatic-renewal laws can add notice, price-change, or cancellation-process rules. Card issuers also have billing-error dispute processes. UK and EU consumers may have distance-selling cancellation rights, including cooling-off rules, but digital services can have exceptions.

Practical record checklist

  • The provider account email and any alternate emails you may have used
  • The cancellation confirmation, renewal date, and last invoice
  • Refund request date, support ticket number, and payment method
  • Before-and-after screenshots showing whether the printed QR still scans
