Choose before printing
Static or dynamic QR code?
Both use the same kind of scannable pattern. The difference is what the pattern contains and who controls the route after a scan.
| Question | Static QR | Dynamic QR |
|---|---|---|
| What is encoded? | The final website or information. | A short link that redirects to the current destination. |
| Edit after printing? | No. | Yes, while editing access is available. |
| Scan analytics? | Not from the QR itself. | Usually included by the redirect provider. |
| Can it expire? | The pattern itself cannot expire. | The redirect can stop if its owner disables it. |
| Best for | Permanent information that will not change. | Campaigns, files, menus and links that may change. |
Choose static when
- The destination is permanent
- You do not need scan analytics
- You want no redirect dependency
- You are comfortable reprinting after any change
Choose dynamic when
- You may change the destination
- You need scan activity over time
- You share hosted files or landing pages
- Reprinting would be expensive
HonestQR Pro
Cancellation should not destroy printed work.
When Pro ends, editing and analytics pause, but your HonestQR codes keep opening their last saved links. Enterprise redirects require active billing.
